Classical Pilates — a private studio built entirely around you.
By appointment · Sherman Oaks, California
To help you reach your goals through Classical Pilates and functional movement — in a private studio built around you.
Pilates — known as Contrology — is a system. It’s about organizing the body from the inside out, building control and strength to support a healthy spine and keep the body moving with less pain. It teaches you to move holistically, not as separate parts, but as a coordinated whole. Practiced with the right teacher, it is one of the most powerful tools available for staying strong, capable, and pain-free as you age.
“Walk in feeling good, walk out feeling great.”
A depth of knowledge for any body
Pilates is one of the most complete movement systems ever developed — building strength, flexibility, and body awareness while calming the nervous system. With 23 years of teaching experience and 38 years as a dedicated Pilates student, I bring a depth of knowledge that allows me to work with virtually any body, at any stage of life.
My goal is to help my clients stay agile, strong, and capable as they age — moving with less fear of pain while building balance, coordination, and control. Whether you want to keep up with your sport, your job, your kids or grandkids, your travels, or your hobbies, we focus on whatever your goals are.
A movement practice for a stressful world
I study longevity, and I love working with people who prioritize strength, posture, and a healthier moving spine. We live in a stressful world — and Pilates is one of the few movement practices that builds physical strength while actively calming the nervous system, making it a powerful tool for managing stress.
I want to help you age well. Pilates is one of the most evidence-aligned movement practices for longevity — and I’ve been studying and teaching it for over two decades. Every lesson is guided and focused entirely on you: how your body is feeling, and what it needs that particular day.
Pilates is having a moment — choose your hands carefully.
ClassPass reports Pilates has held the top slot worldwide for three consecutive years, with bookings surging 66% year over year. Studios are popping up everywhere — and the industry is unregulated. Many have deviated from traditional principles, prioritizing intensity and aesthetics over safety, with some instructors receiving as little as a day of in-house training.
The reformer was designed for one-on-one or small-group instruction, rooted in the principles of the method — not for crowded group classes run by undertrained instructors. My trained eye, adaptability, and 23 years of hands-on experience mean that here, you are in skilled, safe hands.

A student for life
My love affair with Pilates began in 1988. For nearly four decades, movement has been my practice, my passion, and my path to healing.
It wasn’t until after having my four daughters that I completed my first teacher training program in 2002. I had experienced cervical spine issues that severely limited my movement, and Pilates was the one thing that fully restored my range of motion, strength, and flexibility. I experienced its power firsthand — and I’ve spent the last 23 years sharing that with others.
Eager to go deeper, I trained in the authentic work of Joseph Pilates — what he called “Contrology,” now widely known as Classical Pilates. I completed three separate teacher training programs, all led by second-generation teachers who learned directly from one of the five lineages of Joseph Pilates himself.
Pilates — Contrology — is a system. It’s about organizing the body from the inside out, teaching control and strength to support a healthy spine and keeping the body moving with less pain. It teaches you to move holistically, not as separate parts, but as a coordinated whole. It is a powerful tool for staying strong as you age, building balance, coordination, and control, and moving with greater confidence and less fear.
I care deeply about the method, about the people who trust me with their bodies, and about the direction the industry is going. My trained eye, adaptability, and 23 years of hands-on experience allow me to meet each client exactly where they are — and to guide them somewhere better. My specialty is helping all bodies move well, especially those managing long-term pain, navigating the aging process, or recovering from injury, surgery, cancer, or autoimmune conditions.
I am passionate about continuing education and staying current on new research related to osteoporosis, rehab after joint replacements, and recommended protocols for spinal issues. I have completed the Movement Science Made Simple graduate-level curriculum — a rigorous seven-course program that integrates current concepts in biomechanics, motor learning theory, and pain science with time-tested movement training strategies. It gives me the knowledge and confidence to work with diverse client populations and to collaborate effectively with fitness and rehabilitation professionals.
I meet regularly with my advisors, take weekly private lessons with my own teacher, and maintain my own personal practice. I consider myself a student for life.

Don’t take my word for it
Here’s what my clients have to say. Many of them have been practicing with me for five, seven, even ten or more years. Their words mean everything.
I started working with Jenn Weiss after recovering from cancer treatment, when it was really important for me to rebuild strength carefully and without injury. From the very beginning, Jenn understood exactly what I needed. She has an incredible ability to listen to how you’re feeling and shape each session around that. Every workout feels thoughtful and specific, balancing healing with just the right amount of challenge. After more than a year, I am so much stronger, more stable, and more confident in my body. I have done Pilates for many years, and Jenn is truly the best teacher I’ve ever worked with. Working with her has been one of the best investments I’ve made in my health and my future.
“A few years ago, a back surgeon recommended that I try Pilates. Luckily for me, I was introduced to Jenn Weiss. Since then, my journey with Jenn has been absolutely transformative…”
“A few years ago, a back surgeon recommended that I try Pilates. Luckily for me, I was introduced to Jenn Weiss. Since then, my journey with Jenn has been absolutely transformative. I honestly don’t even remember the back issues — and I now have what feels like a totally different body… and mind. Pilates has taught me a very healing mind/body connection. I am so grateful to Jenn for her patience and positivity as my teacher.”
“I wish I had met Jenn Weiss 20 years ago! She is tireless in her pursuit of the different ways Pilates can help me with my scoliosis. I always leave her studio feeling better, taller, and more stable…”

I cannot recommend her more highly.”
“Enter Jennifer Weiss. She took me, my bad back, and my broken ankle, and gave me back much of what I had lost. I’m still working as a landscape designer at 85 — and I need to be in the best physical shape this body can manage…”
“After years of going to chiropractors for a bad back, my chiropractor finally told me: the pain wasn’t going away, but strengthening the rest of my body would help. So I found a wonderful Pilates trainer — and worked with her for more than 20 years. Then she moved away, I had an accident and broke my ankle, and I let too much time pass. Enter Jennifer Weiss. She took me, my bad back, and my broken ankle, and gave me back much of what I had lost. I’m still working as a landscape designer at 85 and need to be in the best physical shape this body can manage. Jenn took up that challenge. She’s a good listener — once she understood my strengths and weaknesses, she rolled up her sleeves and built a program that works. This old body now has the strength and stamina to keep doing what I love.”
“Jennifer Weiss has been my Pilates instructor for more than 10 years. Her enthusiasm for the practice inspires me to challenge myself — and she makes it fun…”
“Jennifer Weiss has been my Pilates instructor for more than 10 years. Her enthusiasm for the practice inspires me to challenge myself, and she makes it fun. Part of what I love about Pilates is the mental aspect of the practice, and her positive encouragement inspires me to try harder at every session. I think she truly believes that Pilates is for every body — and she tailors her sessions to meet the needs of her diverse clientele.”
“I’ve been working with Jenn for almost ten years, and I still look forward to every session. She’s helped me stay strong and flexible through every change my body’s gone through, and I trust her instincts completely…”
“I’ve been working with Jenn for almost ten years, and I still look forward to every session. She’s helped me stay strong and flexible through every change my body’s gone through, and I trust her instincts completely. My body always responds to her cues — even when my brain doesn’t! Just when I think I’ve got the routine down, she surprises me with something new. She’s always learning and bringing fresh ideas, which keeps things fun and effective. A beautiful studio, an incredible teacher — and a cute dog that keeps me company.”
“Since I started Pilates with Jennifer, my core strength and flexibility have greatly improved — and painful back issues I used to have have completely gone away. I have zero pain now…”
“I have been practicing Pilates with Jennifer Weiss for four years. She has been absolutely wonderful. Since I started, my core strength and flexibility have greatly improved, and I used to have painful back issues that have completely gone away — I have zero pain now. It’s also a great mind-body workout. But the thing that has made me the happiest is the transformation of my body. I’m 56 years old and in the best shape I’ve been in for at least 25 years. Thank you, Jennifer.”
“Jennifer is an exceptional instructor truly dedicated to her clients. Her knowledge of anatomy, musculature, and biomechanics allowed me to trust her completely to address my lower back pain, limited hip movement, and posture…”
“Jennifer is an exceptional instructor who is passionate about teaching Pilates and truly dedicated to her clients. Her sessions are tailored to each person’s needs, and her knowledge of anatomy, musculature, and biomechanics allowed me to trust her to create a program to improve my lower back pain, limited hip movement, and posture. Jennifer has proven herself over and over in the seven years we have worked together. Today I stand taller, I am strong, well-balanced, and flexible.”
“At 84 I was starting to look at the floor when I walked. Thanks to Jennifer, I am now reaching for the stars.”
